Li Jingxiong, born in 1987 in Anhui province, obtained a Master’s Degree of Fine Art from Nanjing University of Fine Arts where he became a teacher between 2013 and 2014 and contributed to the founding of the Department of Experimental Art. He now lives and works in Shanghai

His practice includes paintings, installations, texts and videos, to explore the connection between luxury consumption and ‘everyday’ aesthetic. He thus tries to express a uniquely Chinese ‘anxiety’ and to show the hidden side of our capitalist economy. Besides, he attempts to condition materials in unusual ways so as to disturb the viewer’s habits.

Li Jingxiong’s works have been exhibited at Shanghai’s K11 Museum, at Nanjing’s Sifang Museum, at Shanghai’s Goethe Institute and at Pearl Lam Gallery.
